CARSON, Calif. -- The LA Galaxy will face the Portland Timbers at Providence Park in the U.S. Open Cup in Round of 16, U.S. Soccer announced on Thursday
The winner of the Galaxy's match with Portland will host the victor of the other Round of 16 match in the West bracket between Seattle Sounders FC and Real Salt lake. The last team standing from the West region will face the Plains region (Sporting KC, Houston Dynamo, Colorado Rapids, FC Dallas) winner in the U.S. Open Cup semifinals.
Los Angeles advanced to the Round of 16 on Wednesday with a 4-1 victory over amateur side La Maquina of Santa Anta.
