2016 USL Regular Season
StubHub Center – Carson, Calif.
LA GALAXY II HEAD COACH CURT ONALFO
On what he thought about the match:
“It was a very hard fought three points. I thought we performed very well, very good first half. Had a stretch in the second half where we let our foot off the gas and lost a little momentum, but closed out the game well. It was good to get the shutout and the three points.”
On the performance of Adonis Amaya:
“He did a very good job. He’s been fighting injury all year and now he gets an opportunity with Jack [McBean] getting called up to the first team and he made the most of it.”
On what was difference from the team’s performance in Tulsa last week:
“We just didn’t concede the goals. We gifted them two goals last week. We should have won the game 2-0 last week.”
LA GALAXY II FORWARD ADONIS AMAYA
On his first goal of the season:
“It was good. I was alert on the goal. The centerback had passed it back to the keeper and I was able to pounce on it. It’s my first goal; it feels good. The team played well overall. It’s kind of hard when someone sits back, but we were able to get it around them and get out wide. We played well I think. Everyone had a good performance and we worked hard for the win today.
I think just our movement off the ball was good today. We worked very hard today; it’s hard to win games in this league. Our attitude was right from the beginning and we showed it throughout the whole 90 minutes. It was good for the team to get the win after a couple of draws, so we’ll be good for the rest of the season.
