CARSON, Calif. -- Steven Gerrard earned a place in MLSsoccer.com's Team of the Week after a two-assist performance in the Galaxy's 2-0 win over Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Monday.
The veteran midfielder was in top form during the Galaxy's Independence Day win as he set up goals by Robbie Keane and Jeff Larentowicz en route to helping Los Angeles earn their first win at home in league play since May 8.
Galaxy forward Gyasi Zardes was included on the Team of the Week bench after a tireless showing in his first action since returning from international duty.
