Steven Gerrard not concerned with "precautionary" exit from Houston Dynamo match | INSIDER

CARSON, Calif. – Steven Gerrard suffered a knock in the late stages of the LA Galaxy’s 1-0 victory over the Houston Dynamo last Friday, but the veteran midfielder is not expected to miss any time.

After the game, Galaxy boss Bruce Arena told reporters that Gerrard “felt something” in the second half which forced him to exit the game in the 80th minute. The 36-year-old has 14 appearances this season but missed five games due to injury.

Despite his injury troubles earlier in the season, Gerrard wasn’t too concerned by the issue and is confident that he’ll be back on the field this week.

“It was just precaution,” Gerrard, who scored his third goal of the season on Friday, said. “I know my body quite well. I’ve had quite a few injuries this season so I used precaution. I know that I have to be careful and listen to my body. Maybe a few years ago, I’d play on and get a muscle injury, but I’ve come off just in time.”
