LA Galaxy placing great importance on their U.S. Open Cup semifinal clash with FC Dallas | INSIDER

CARSON, Calif. – The LA Galaxy are placing major importance on Wednesday’s U.S. Open Cup semifinal clash with FC Dallas.

Los Angeles host their Western Conference rivals on Wednesday with the winner advancing to the U.S. Open Cup final. The semifinal match against Dallas will be the Galaxy’s first trip to the last four of the tournament since the 2006 season.

“This week is important. We have the Open Cup game where if we win one, game we’re in the final. This is a very important game,” Gyasi Zardes told LAGalaxy.com. “The league is also very important, but the league is much longer. This one, you lose, and you’re out, so it’s very important.”

With the Galaxy just two wins away from their first Open Cup victory since 2005, much of the focus this week will be directed toward Wednesday’s vital match.

“The Open Cup game is important to us,” DeLaGarza said. “It’s a semifinal, and we want to position ourselves to be in the final.”
