CARSON, Calif. – The LA Galaxy recognized 16-year-old Jacob Torres before the Galaxy’s 2-2 draw with the New York Red Bulls.

Torres underwent three knee surgeries as well as a meniscus transplant after suffering an injury in club soccer game back in 2013. Nearly three years later, and with the help of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Torres is almost ready to return to the soccer field.

The LA Galaxy Foundation honored the youngster on Sunday, allowing him to meet with captain Robbie Keane prior to warmups and to be photographed with the team for the starting XI photo.
