(Monday, Aug. 29, 2016) – LA Galaxy II (10-7-9, 39 points) return home to LA after a stretch of five consecutive road games to take on rival and Western Conference leader Sacramento Republic FC (13-6-8, 47 points) at 7:30 p.m. PT on Saturday, Sept. 10 at the StubHub Center Track & Field Stadium.

On that road stretch, LA Galaxy II recorded a 1-3-1 record. Los Dos played two games last week. On Saturday, LA fell 3-0 to Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC at Switchbacks Stadium in Colorado Springs, Colo. It was only the sixth time the team had been shut out all season. On Wednesday, they defeated Arizona United SC 2-1 behind goals from Adonis Amaya and Ariel Lassiter.
Now with only four games remaining on the season, three at home, LA Galaxy II sit sixth place in the Western Conference standings. That’s four points clear of the eighth and last playoff spot. They sit eight points off the leader, Sacramento.
Against Sacramento this season, Los Dos are 0-1-1. Sacramento handed Los Dos their first loss of the season back on May 7, while Los Dos took a road point in Sacramento on June 4 in a 2-2 draw. Los Dos have never beaten Sacramento in LA.

In other LA Galaxy II news, Jefrey Payeras went 90 minutes for Guatemala in their 2-2 draw with Trinidad and Tobago in their World Cup qualifying match in Port-of-Spain on Friday. The start was Payeras’ second international appearance for the Central American national. They’ll face St. Vincent and the Grenadines tomorrow at 4:15 p.m. PT in Guatemala City.
