CARSON, Calif. – Ariel Lassiter’s finish against Portland Timbers 2 was voted LAGalaxy.com’s Goal of the Month competition presented by 76 gas for August.
The 21-year-old’s goal in Galaxy II’s 4-3 defeat to Timbers 2 finished well-ahead of Ashley Cole’s tally against New York Red Bulls in the voting. Lassiter’s goal occurred in the 15th minute when the “Goal Puppy” slipped past Timbers defender Steven Taylor and then launched a left-foot shot in the back of the net.
Lassiter joins the Galaxy II striker with Jack McBean (two-time winner), Giovani dos Santos, Efrain Alvarez and Robbie Rogers as winners of the competition.
