CARSON, Calif. – Giovani dos Santos’ sublime chip of Steve Clark snapped the LA Galaxy’s near four-year drought in MLSsoccer.com’s Goal of the Week competition.
Dos Santos’ second half finish in the Galaxy’s 2-1 win over Columbus Crew SC bested seven other nominees for the Goal of the Week honor. Also nominated for the Goal of the Week crown was Baggio Husidic’s rocket from beyond 30 yards in the same match.
The Mexican international’s win is the Galaxy’s first Goal of the Week win since the 2012 campaign. Los Angeles last won the honor a full 204 weeks ago when Robbie Keane scored against Real Salt Lake on Oct. 6, 2012.
