CARSON, Calif. -- Five years ago, Landon Donovan was in attendance when Ema Boateng was named National Boys Soccer Player of the Year, and now the pair are teammates with the LA Galaxy.
Boateng posted a touching throwback Thursday tweet honoring Donovan's presence at the reception of the midfielder's 2011-12 Gatorade National Boys Soccer Player of the Year award. Back in 2011, Donovan signed Boateng's program "To Ema, looking forward to playing with you soon" and now just five years later, the pair are integral parts of the LA Galaxy.
