LA Galaxy on the rise in MLS Power Rankings | INSIDER

Giovani dos Santos

CARSON, Calif. -- The LA Galaxy are on the move in the league's three most prominent power rankings.

On the heels of the Galaxy's 3-3 draw with Real Salt Lake and 4-2 win over Orlando City SC last week, Los Angeles made major strides in the SI.com, MLSsoccer.com, and ESPN FC power rankings. Bruce Arena's men moved to third in MLSsoccer.com's rankings and placed fourth and fifth respectively in the SI.com and ESPN FC lists.

MLSsoccer.com: 3rd

"Giovani dos Santos could become the fourth player in MLS history with 15 goals and 15 assists in a season if his form stays at his current level."

ESPN FC: 5th

"The night was supposed to be about Landon Donovan's return and instead it became a showcase for what Giovani dos Santos can do, as he scored twice and assisted once in a 4-2 win. The Mexican is in fine form at just the right time."

SI.com: 4th

"What a couple of weeks it’s been for the Galaxy. The team loses Gyasi Zardes for a significant stretch, shows indifferent form on the field, come away from Salt Lake with point after a wild 3-3 draw on Wednesday, gets the greatest player in MLS history out of retirement to help in the absence of Zardes, then totally dominates Orlando in a 4-2 win on Sunday in primetime. The team seems to have gained momentum at the end of all that, going into the closing stage of the season on a five-game unbeaten run."
