CARSON, Calif. – The memory of fallen Los Angeles County Sheriff Sergeant Steve Owen was honored during Wednesday’s LA Galaxy MLS Cup Playoffs victory over Real Salt Lake.
Owen and 10 members of his family were honored pregame and during halftime of the Galaxy’s 3-1 win over Real Salt Lake on Wednesday and were presented with a commemorative LA Galaxy uniform. During both ceremonies, Los Angeles County Sheriff deputies stood alongside Owen’s family as the crowd honored the memory of the fallen hero.
The 29-year veteran of the L.A. County Sheriff Department was tragically slain on duty earlier this month which led to an outpouring of support that spanned nationwide.
