The Beyond the Bell Branch (BTB) of Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) will recognize LA Galaxy President Chris Klein at the 9th Annual Beyond the Bell Golf Classic at the Oakmont Country Club on Monday, November 14, 2016.

As the recipient of the Beyond the Bell - GRIT Award (Generosity-Resiliency-Integrity-Tenacity), Klein and the LA Galaxy have supported Beyond the Bell for over five years with thousands of LAUSD students participating in their annual Read Across America week of celebration and LA Galaxy Kick Star Reading Challenge. The LA Galaxy was proud to install LAUSD’s first “mini pitch” at Muir Middle School and continually aim to support the work of BTB through invitation to Galaxy games, soccer clinics, leadership panels, internships, and soccer equipment donations.
The Beyond the Bell Branch (BTB) of Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) is devoted to providing free academic, enrichment and recreational programs to students and their families. The activities they provide offer a safe, fun, and educational environment before and after school to over 160,000 students daily.
This year, proceeds from the golf tournament will support sports programs and the building of a new “mini pitch” at a selected site. Currently, the sports program serves over 50,000 elementary students and 24,500 middle school students. With help from supporters, BTB will look to increase participation numbers to 100,000 and 50,000 respectively.
