CARSON, Calif. -- Landon Donovan is a U.S. Soccer legend, but the nation's all-time leading scorer was all class when he congratulated his LA Galaxy teammate Giovani dos Santos and Mexico on their 2-1 win over the United States on Friday.
Dos Santos' El Tri squad earned their first win in five tries in Columbus on Friday when Rafa Marquez and Miguel Layun scored to give Mexico the victory over the United States at MAPFRE Stadium. The loss was not only the Americans first defeat to Mexico in Columbus, but the USMNT's first World Cup qualifying defeat on home soil in 15 years.
Despite the tough defeat for the USMNT, Donovan congratulated Dos Santos and his El Tri teammates.
