Match Report: Giovani dos Santos and Mexico play to a 0-0 draw against Panama

Gio vs Panama

Giovani dos Santos and the Mexican national team took home a point following their 0-0 draw with Panama on Tuesday night.

The 27-year-old went 60 minutes in his second consecutive appearance of the CONCACAF Hexagonal Round at Estadio Rommel Fernandez in Panama.

Both teams traded even chances throughout the match, but neither side could solidify all three points for their side.

Mexico are now second in the Hex with four points, two points behind Costa Rica.

The Galaxy forward also represented Mexico in October when he captained his country in friendly matches against New Zealand and Panama, scoring a goal and recording a game-winning assist between the two games. The 27-year-old forward has now made 86 appearances for Mexico all time, scoring 15 goals.

After appearing for his national team in two 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifying matches against the United States and Panama, Dos Santos has now been released for the offseason until the LA Galaxy report back for preseason in February.

El Tri return to Hex action at home on March 24, 2017 against Costa Rica.
