CARSON, Calif. – Giovani dos Santos is unlikely to be available for this Saturday’s match with Real Salt Lake.
The 27-year-old Mexican forward suffered what Galaxy head coach Curt Onalfo described as a “minor hamstring issue” during the first half of the team’s 1-0 defeat to Portland Timbers on Sunday. On Wednesday, Onalfo told reporters that dos Santos was “day to day” but “not likely” to travel to Salt Lake City this weekend.
“He felt it in in the first sprint of the game,” Onalfo told reporters. “You could tell from the beginning. Sometimes in those occasions that it loosens up but the prudent thing to do was to take him out so he doesn’t miss a lot of time.”
