Brian Rowe pleased to return to net despite LA Galaxy defeat | INSIDER

CARSON, Calif. – Brian Rowe made his return between the pipes during the LA Galaxy’s 3-0 defeat to Seattle Sounders FC and despite the result, the goalkeeper was pleased to return to action.

Rowe’s start was his first appearance since the Galaxy opened the regular season on March 4 with Clement Diop making five consecutive starts before picking up a hip injury against Orlando City SC. The ‘keeper made two saves in the team’s disappointing performance against Seattle.

Although the Galaxy could not pick up a result against Seattle, Rowe was pleased to get back on the field.

“As a competitor, you always want to be out there and you want to be fighting with your guys. I wish that we had a better result, but I’m looking forward to keep going,” Rowe said. “You take on a different role in that you’re still trying to help out the rest of the team and the rest of the guys. It’s something that keeps you humble and keeps you working hard.”

Rowe admitted that the fact he was placed in reserve was “frustrating”, but revealed that he had no problem with being part of a competition for a starting place.

“because we’re all competitors and we all want to be out there on the weekend and playing. It doesn’t take away from the fact that I’m out supporting Diop and Jon Kempin or any of those guys and I want them to do well.

“We’re all stepping out there every day and we’re doing our best to compete.”
