Positive Coaching Alliance is a national non-profit organization developing “Better Athletes, Better People” by working to provide all youth and high school athletes a positive, character-building youth sports experience.  PCA provides training to coaches, parents, youth athletes, and youth sports organization leaders on how to teach positive character traits and “life lessons” through sports that not only increase success in competition, but also help athletes become better people and make positive contributions throughout their lives.  A true LA galaxy Sportsmanship Award nominee should abide by PCA’s foundation of “honoring the game” through ROOTS, which stands for better respecting: Rules, Opponents, Officials, Teammates and Self.
