Field Notes: Galaxy suffer worst loss since 2008 against Seattle

SEATTLE --It was a night to forget for the LA Galaxy as they fell 4-0 to the Seattle Sounders, in the club's worst loss since 2008.

There was one positive moment at CenturyLink Field, however, as the picture above is of a member of the U.S. Navy, who was presented with a jersey by LA Galaxy defender Omar Gonzalez after the match. Classy move by Gonzalez especially given the result.

A few notes on the match...

*The defeat snapped the Galaxy's five game unbeaten streak.

*Eddie Johnson's goal in the sixth minute was the seventh time this season that the Galaxy had conceded a goal in the first ten minutes and the ninth time in the first 25.

* The 4-0 defeat was the sixth this season that the Galaxy had allowed three goals or more. Last season, the club allowed three goals or more a game just three times. LA is 1-5-0 this season when they give up three goals or more.

*The 4-0 defeat was the worst loss for LA since 2008 defeats to Colorado and Dallas. Only one away from the team record defeat of five goals against the New York/New Jersey MetroStars in 2002.

*David Junior Lopes is no longer on yellow card accumlation watch as one was wiped out for good conduct. Lopes now needs two yellow cards to earn a suspension.

*Todd Dunivant was back in the 18-man roster for the first time since July 18 after missing two matches with right calf hematoma..

We'll have more on the match in the morning, but until then check out my "Three Points" to the game.
