The LA Galaxy signed midfielder Adam Saldaña on January 20, 2021. The 18-year-old LA Galaxy Academy product featured in the USL Championship last year for LA Galaxy II, making 16 starts across the regular season.
Saldaña made 16 appearances – all starts – for LA Galaxy II last season across various midfield positions, helping lead them to a second place finish in Group B to clinch a berth in the USL Championship Playoffs for the second-straight season. He originally signed a professional contract with LA Galaxy II in 2019 following several standout seasons with the LA Galaxy Academy. In all, Saldaña has made 26 appearances for Los Dos.
During his time with the Academy, he helped led the team to the 2018-19 U.S. Soccer Development Academy Playoffs. Saldaña also took part in the 2019 Generation adidas Cup with the LA Galaxy Academy U-17 squad, where the team reached the quarterfinals.
In addition to his time with the LA Galaxy, Saldaña has garnered international attention, featuring regularly for the U-17 squad. Most recently, he made three appearances in the U-17 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. In all, he has made 26 appearances for the U.S. U-17 squad across various competitions.
