ESPN Zone at LA Live: Galaxy assistant Coach Cobi Jones was on hand for the pre-game
festivities before the U.S.-England World Cup match and signed autographs for
fans in the main viewing room. However, there was one tense moment as the
autograph session wrapped up when a group of England fans presented an England
flag for him to sign. Always happy to sign most items, Jones refused this
request as he flashed a quick smile and laugh while graciously declining to sign
while the crowd in attendance quickly booed the England
fans off the stage. Then, ESPN 710 AM Radio’s host A. Martinez sat down for an
extensive Q&A with the Galaxy legend talking about the club’s quick start to
the 2010 MLS season, his World Cup experiences and the all important
U.S.-England showdown. There were also two surprise guests at the viewing party
as Galaxy forward Bryan Jordan and former teammate and FS West guest commentator
Alecko Eskandarian joined us at the ESPN Zone to watch the game. All in all, it
was a great atmosphere!
