The LA Galaxy announced todaythat the club has traded forward Alan Gordon to Chivas USA in exchange for allocation money.
Gordon entered the season as the Galaxy’s longest-tenured player, having made his debut for the club in 2004. In seven years with the club, Gordon had 16 goals and 12 assists in 99 regular season games, while also appearing in nine postseason games, including MLS Cup 2005 in Frisco, Texas, when the Galaxy won their second league championship. This season, Gordon had one goal in 12 regular season games, while also appearing in both of the club’s U.S. Open Cup and CONCACAF Champions League matches.
The 28-year-old graduate was selected by the Galaxy in the sixth round of the 2004 MLS SuperDraft out of Oregon State University. He made his debut for the club in a 0-0 draw with San Jose on September 25 of that year. Gordon had his best season with the club in 2008 when he set career-highs with five goals and seven assists in 26 games with the Galaxy.
