MLS to unveil 2011 home openers

Details of First Kick will be revealed at 12:30 p.m. PT

NEW YORK — The MLS offseason is about to feel a little bit shorter.


At 3:30 pm ET/12:30 pm PT today, MLSsoccer.com will reveal the dates of the home openers for every team in the league, including details for First Kick in the league's 16th season.


"First Kick 2011" will feature a week of action among an unprecedented 18 clubs as expansion franchises in Portland and Vancouver join the fold. This coming season, all clubs will play a 34-game balanced scheduled in which every team will face every other team twice, home and away. Ten teams will qualify for the MLS Cup Playoffs.
