Ownership thanks season ticket holders with free drink

Galaxy fans - home opener

CARSON, Calif.– LA Galaxy ownership announced today the club will be providing all Galaxy Season Ticket Holders, who braved the wind and rain to attend the club’s sold out home opener on March 20, with a complimentary drink prior Saturday’s home game against the Philadelphia Union at The Home Depot Center.

In an amazing show of support, Galaxy season ticket holders braved winds that reached 35 MPH and a record breaking rainstorm that dumped nearly two inches of rain in the region to attend the season opener against the New England Revolution.

The impressive support did not go unnoticed by the club’s ownership, specifically AEG President and CEO Tim Leiweke, who was also in attendance at the game.

“I am utterly blown away by the passion that you showed at the Galaxy's home opener on March 20. Seeing and hearing thousands of Galaxy fans at The Home Depot Center above the wind and rain reminded me why the LA Galaxy and its fans are the pride of MLS,” Leiweke said in a letter to season ticket holders.

“To show my appreciation, I'm inviting you to have a drink on me at the Galaxy's April 2 game,” added Leiweke. “As Season Ticket Holders, you've shown incredible support for the LA Galaxy. I thank you on behalf of all of us at AEG and at the Galaxy for showing your commitment on March 20 and for many more games to come this season.”

This game will undoubtedly forever be remembered by Galaxy season ticket holders dressed in their blue rain ponchos, dancing and cheering their club on to a 1-1 draw with New England.
