LA Galaxy goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts may have started the season in the trainer's room, but he's coming on strong now. So strong that his save this past Saturday against Portland's Kenny Cooper was voted MLS Save of the Week for Week 6.
The stop was one of both instinct and veteran anticipation. In the 80th minute, a whipped cross from the right side found Cooper alone in the middle. By the time the Timbers striker hit his quick, low volley, Ricketts had already shifted into position to make a reflexive kick save and preserve the shutout.
