TUKWILA, Wash. – The LA Galaxy fell to 0-4-0 in MLS Reserve League play on Monday with a 1-0 loss to Seattle Sounders FC at the Starfire Complex in Tukwila, Wash. Trialist Sammy Ochoa scored the game’s only goal in the 82nd minute to give the Sounders their sixth straight win on the year

The Galaxy outshot the Sounders 20-19 and forced six saves from Seattle goalkeeper Terry Boss, but were unable to breakthrough as they were shutout for the second straight game. LA had the better of the chances in the first half, with Mike Magee creating a series of opportunities and Adam Cristman forcing a save from Boss.

In the second half, the Sounders began to control the play, only to be denied time and again by the Galaxy defense and goalkeeper Brian Perk. With the game still scoreless in the 71st minute, Perk made the most difficult of his seven saves, stopping Seattle’s Miguel Montano from 16 yards out.

With 11 minute left and the game still scoreless, Dan Keat, who played in central defense alongside Gregg Berhalter to open the game, nearly gave the Galaxy the lead, getting on the end of a Magee pass only to see his shot slip just wide of the right post.

Seattle finally got on the board in the 82nd minute as Ochoa scored the eventual game-winner. Sounders midfielder Erik Friberg slotted the ball in front of the goal for Ochoa and the former U.S. Under-20 international hit a first time shot from six yards. Perk made the initial save, but the rebound was bundled over the line by Ochoa to give his team a 1-0 lead.

Late in the game, Jovan Kirovski went close with a header and Galaxy Academy player Riley Wolfe made his Reserve League debut, coming on for Bryan Jordan, but it was not enough as the Galaxy fell 1-0.

The Galaxy will be back in Reserve League action at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 20 when they host the Vancouver Whitecaps FC in a game at The Home Depot Center Track and Field Stadium. That game kicks off at 11 a.m. and admission is free.
