Los Angeles Galaxy Foundation to hold annual Jersey-Off-the-Back auction at Sunday’s SuperClasico

CARSON, Calif. (Friday, October 14, 2011) – The Los Angeles Galaxy Foundation will host its annual Jersey-Off-the-Back auction on Sunday, October 16 at the Galaxy’s game against Chivas USA, presented by The Home Depot, at The Home Depot Center. Fans can bid on the jerseys that the Galaxy's starting eleven players will wear in the first half of that game by visiting the Galaxy Foundation booth through the end of halftime with a portion of the proceeds benefiting cancer fighting organizations. All bidders must be present to win.

The LA Galaxy and MLS W.O.R.K.S. will also continue their efforts to raise awareness and funds to help in the fight against breast cancer at Sunday’s game. The Galaxy and Chivas USA, along with their respective players, coaches and officials will be outfitted in pink gear for the game in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Once again, Zeta Tau Alpha (ZTA) fraternity will be on site to distribute pink ribbons to fans while Contemporary Services Corporation (CSC), who handle event security and crowd management at The Home Depot Center, will have all of their personnel wearing pink uniforms.

As part of their efforts, the Galaxy Foundation will have a limited number of special edition pink LA Galaxy scarves and other items available for purchase, as well as an auction featuring autographed pink memorabilia at its booth. For complete details, please click here.

Tickets are on sale now, starting at just $30, for the Galaxy’s final home game of the regular season on Sunday, October 16 against Chivas USA, as well as for the home leg of their Western Conference Semifinal Series, which is scheduled to be played on either Wednesday, Nov. 2 or Thursday, Nov. 3, with stadium capacity limited to 15,000 for that game.
