CARSON, Calif. (Wednesday, October 26, 2011) – The LA Galaxy will face the New York Red Bulls in their Western Conference Semifinal Series following the Red Bulls’ 2-0 win over FC Dallas in their Wild Card Match earlier tonight at Pizza Hut Park. The series will open at Red Bull Arena on Sunday, October 30, with the return leg to be played at The Home Depot Center on Thursday, November 3.

Both legs of the series between the Galaxy and Red Bulls will be shown on the ESPN family of networks. Sunday’s game at Red Bull Arena will kick off at 12 p.m. (PT) and be shown live on ESPN2, ESPN Deportes and ESPN3.com. The return leg at The Home Depot Center, which is presented by Pechanga Resort and Casino will kick off at 8 p.m. (PT) and be shown live on ESPN2, ESPN Deportes and ESPN3.com.

The Galaxy had an 0-1-1 record against the Red Bulls this season, playing them to a 1-1 draw at The Home Depot Center on May 7 before losing 2-0 at Red Bull Arena on October 4 in a game that saw the Galaxy play without Landon Donovan, Robbie Keane, Mike Magee, Josh Saunders and a number of other first team players.

In the current playoff format, which began in 2003, the Galaxy are 3-1-1 in the first leg of the Conference Semifinals and 3-1-1 in the return leg. Overall, the Galaxy are 20-3-1 all-time at home in the postseason compared to 8-10-4 on the road. This will be the two sides’ first postseason meeting since the 2001 MLS Quarterfinals when the Galaxy knocked out the MetroStars in a three-game series en route to reaching MLS Cup.

Tickets for Game Two of the Western Conference Semifinal Series at The Home Depot Center, presented by Pechanga Resort and Casino are on sale now starting at just $30. Fans can also purchase tickets for the Western Conference Championship, which the Galaxy would host at The Home Depot Center on Sunday, November 6 if they advance past the Red Bulls, and MLS Cup 2011 by visiting www.lagalaxy.com/playoffs or by calling 1-877-3GALAXY (342-5299).

Capacity at The Home Depot Center will be limited to 15,000 for the Galaxy’s Thursday’s game against the Red Bulls because of a long standing, mutual agreement with The Home Depot Center and California State University, Dominguez Hills regarding reduced stadium capacity for midweek games during the school year. If the Galaxy are to advance to the Western Conference Championship, the stadium capacity would return to the full 27,000.
