On Monday, November 21st, Thanksgiving came a little early for the children and families from Compton Welfare Rights Organization, Inc., Drew Child Development Center, Fred Jefferson Memorial Homes, Harbor Interfaith Services Organization, Koinonia Family Children’s Shelter, Long Beach Rescue Mission, Los Angeles Child Services, New Image Homeless Shelter, Salvation Army Red Shield Youth Center, St. Francis Medical Center, Testimonial Community Love Center in LA, Union Rescue Mission and the 1736 Family Crisis Center at the Los Angeles Galaxy Foundation and The Home Depot Center Charitable Foundation’s 9th annual Foundations’ Feast in the American Express Stadium Club at The Home Depot Center.
One day after the winning the 2011 MLS Cup Championship, LA Galaxy defender A.J. DeLaGarza joined 2011 Miss LA Galaxy Lara, 2011 Miss LA Galaxy Court members Monique and Katie, the Galaxy Street Team and volunteers from the Galaxy, The Home Depot Center, United States Soccer Federation, United States Tennis Association, Athletes’ Performance, ESPN X Games and Macy’s to serve Thanksgiving dinner, lead arts and crafts and share a nice evening with the special guests.
Guests enjoyed a complete Thanksgiving dinner, cooked by Levy Restaurants, with turkey donated by Bristol Farms and ham donated for the 9th year by Farmer John, delicious side dishes provided by Levy Cares and topped it off with Marie Callender’s pumpkin and apple pies, Two Chefs on a Roll’s chocolate cake, caramel apples and Starbucks Carson coffee. At the end of the night, each child was given a gift bag with items contributed by Macy’s, McDonald’s, ESPN X Games and the LA Galaxy.
In addition to the above mentioned, Foundations’ Feast is made possible by the contributions from Ralph’s (Carson and Gardena stores), Food 4 Less and Vons.
