The MLS Cup 2011 champion LA Galaxy will open the 17th season of Major League Soccer on Saturday, March 10 at The Home Depot Center. MLS today announced dates for the opening weekend the league, First Kick presented by Dick’s Sporting Goods, which will kickoff with six matches on March 10, including the Galaxy’s game at The Home Depot Center, two games on March 11 and one game on March 12.

Times, opponents, and national broadcast information for these games will be included in the entire regular season schedule, which will be announced upon its completion in the coming weeks. In 2012, each club will play 34 games in the regular season.

The Galaxy are 10-4-2 all-time in home openers and are unbeaten in their last four, including last season’s 1-1 draw against the New England Revolution in front of a sold out crowd of 27,000.
