In the spirit of the SuperClasico rivalry, Galaxy and Chivas staff & supporters faced off in three very heated matches on Thursday night at The Home Depot Center. While Chivas took home the win in the staff game, Galaxy supporters shut out their opponents in both supporter matches. Riot Squad defeated Black Army 4-0 in their inaugural match and Angel City Brigade took home a 1-0 win in the third and final match of the night.

LA RIOT SQUAD 4, BLACK ARMY 0

LARS traditionally opens games with the Cobra Kai’s “No Fear” mantra from 1984’s “Karate Kid” and on Thursday, it was another Cobra Kai formula that did the trick for the boys from 137/138: “Strike first, strike hard, no mercy!” Less than 10 minutes into the game, a long range shot tested the Black Army goalkeeper, who gave up a juicy rebound, quickly capitalized on by LARS’ Abel Ponce for the first goal of the match. That strike set the tone, as Danilo “Pelon” Tejada added another goal just a few minutes later, making the score 2-0 before the halftime whistle.  Almost immediately at the start of the second half, the adjustments from the bench paid off when Eric Gutierrez made it 3-0 for the LA Riot Squad. And, despite missing multiple opportunities to extend the lead, it was eventually a hard tackle on Ponce in the box that set up the penalty kick from the boot of Jamesey for the definitve 4-0 win.
