Tottenham Hotspur to Host Open Training Sessions at The Home Depot Center on Sunday, July 22

CARSON, Calif. (Monday, June 11, 2012) – The LA Galaxy are proud to announce that English Premier League power Tottenham Hotspur will host an open training session for fans at The Home Depot Center ahead of their friendly with the Galaxy on July 24. The 90-minute training session, which will begin at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 22, will give fans the chance to watch the Tottenham squad train first hand.  MORE INFO


Tickets for the training session cost $50 while current Galaxy Season Ticket Holders, and those who become Season Ticket Holders, have the opportunity to purchase a limited number of $99 tickets that allow access to the training session as well as a special meet-and-greet with the Tottenham players following training. Ahead of the start of the team’s three-game U.S. preseason tour, the Tottenham coaching staff will conduct a complete training session for the squad, which finished in fourth place in the Premier League last season, earning a berth in the Europa League. During the session, the manager will talk fans through what is happening on the field before answering a series of questions collected from fans at the conclusion of the session.






The Tottenham training session will be the centerpiece of a full day of soccer instruction and excitement at The Home Depot Center. The day will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Field #5 when Tottenham coaches and Galaxy Academy coaches will conduct a two hour-long coaching seminar for area youth soccer coaches, which will include technical and tactical soccer skill instruction as well as discussion of the clubs’ philosophies for player development. Following the coaching seminar, a 90-minute youth soccer clinic will be held on Field #5, for boys and girls ages 7-14 (limit 200) giving young soccer players the chance to learn and improve their skills first hand from Tottenham and Galaxy Academy coaches. Tickets for each of these cost $65 and include the ability to also watch Tottenham’s training session. At 1 p.m., following the youth soccer clinic, stadium gates will open ahead of the start of practice. Once inside, fans will have the opportunity to receive a behind the scenes tours of the stadium and be entertained by Cozmo and the Galaxy Futboleros Flavored by Shasta. Fans will also be able to visit booths from the LA Galaxy Foundation and the Galaxy Street Team Driven by Chevrolet to win a series of Galaxy-themed prizes. Additionally, after the completion of Spurs’ training session, children ages 14 and under will be invited down onto the field to take a penalty kick on the stadium’s north goal.


The Galaxy and Tottenham will play for the first time ever on Tuesday, July 24 when they meet at The Home Depot Center. That game, which is presented by Pechanga Resort and Casino, kicks off at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are on sale now starting at just $60. BUY NOW
