LA Galaxy Offer Multiple Promotions for Saturday's Game with Vancouver Whitecaps FC

CARSON, Calif. (Thursday, June 21, 2012) – Following last night’s come-from-behind 3-2 victory over Real Salt Lake at Rio Tinto Stadium, the Galaxy will return home to face Vancouver Whitecaps FC at The Home Depot Center on Saturday, June 23. That game, which is presented by First 5 California, kicks off at 7:30 p.m. and features a number of ticketing and philanthropic initiatives for fans of all ages.

As part of the club’s partnership with First 5 California, the Galaxy are hosting Healthy Kids Night Out on Saturday against the Whitecaps. Fans can give kids the gift of soccer and help send them to the game by purchasing tickets for $15 and donating them directly to LA Galaxy Foundation Partners, who will then distribute those tickets to children who would otherwise not have the opportunity to attend a Galaxy game. To donate tickets, fans can visit www.lagalaxy.com/kidsnightout.

The Galaxy will also celebrate Heroes Night on Saturday with the club recognizing the men and women who serve our communities every day. Members of the Los Angeles Police Department, Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, Los Angeles County Fire Department and Los Angeles City Fire Department as well as their families and friends can receive 50% off tickets by visiting www.lagalaxy.com/heroes. To further celebrate the occasion, the Los Angeles Police Department will perform the U.S. national anthem while the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department will provide the Honor Guard. Before the game at SoccerFest, fans will be able to meet Randolph Mantooth, star of the hit 1970s television series EMERGENCY!, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary, see the famous Engine 51 from the show and much more.

Fans can also get into the act by becoming heroes themselves by giving to the LA Galaxy Foundation, which will unveil its new branding on Saturday night. As part of their rebranding efforts, the Foundation will auction off a series of special experiences with proceeds benefitting the Foundation. While many of the experiences have already been purchased, fans can still bid on the opportunity to be an Honorary Ball Kid for the night, assist the stadium’s public address announcer Mike Araujo in announcing the starting lineups for the game or go behind the scenes of the club’s pregame radio show on KTLK 1150 AM with Joe Tutino. Before the game, the Foundation will also host its annual Equipment Sale in the Northwest corner of the stadium concourse. They will also be selling commemorative autographed t-shirts from the Galaxy Foundation booth at SoccerFest. The t-shirts each cost $40 (limit two per person) and are signed by a current Galaxy player, though fans won’t know whose autograph they are getting until they open up their shirt. Ten of the shirts will contain no signatures, but will be signed personally after the game by Galaxy captain Landon Donovan.

Finally, the night will also feature two of Los Angeles’ favorite sports teams teaming up for a unique promotion for their fans. The Galaxy and the Los Angeles Dodgers have collaborated on a partnership that will allow each team to host a special night for their fans. Fans who purchase a $26 Endline ticket or a $46 Reserved Sideline ticket will receive a commemorative Galaxy/Dodgers scarf that is not available anywhere else. Additionally, former Dodgers catcher Jimmy Campanis and pitcher Dennis Powell will be signing autographs in SoccerFest.

Saturday’s game will be the first of two events between the two teams, with the Dodgers hosting Galaxy Night at Dodgers Stadium on Monday, July 30 when the Dodgers host the Arizona Diamondbacks at 7:10 p.m. Galaxy fans will be eligible to purchase tickets in the All-You-Can-Eat Right Field Pavilion for $33 that includes a limited edition Galaxy-themed Dodgers item and access to a pregame autograph session with current Galaxy players. The All-You-Can-Eat ticket includes unlimited Dodger dogs, nachos, popcorn, peanuts and Coca-Cola products.
