CARSON, Calif. (Friday, July 13, 2012) – Continuing the club's ambition to increase their digital footprint and keep their fans better informed, the LA Galaxy have named Adam Serrano as the club’s new full-time beat reporter, providing day-to-day coverage of the Galaxy and the game of soccer for LAGalaxy.com. In addition, Serrano will launch and maintain the new LA Galaxy Insider blog for the club’s website. A well known and respected journalist, Serrano is a Southern California native who has covered the Galaxy and MLS for the popular website Soccer by Ives and MLSSoccer.com before joining the Galaxy.

In this new role, Serrano will cover all aspects of the Galaxy including the first team, the reserves and the Academy, as well as everything in between that the club is doing on and off the field. His editorial content will consist of daily team reports and analysis, breaking news coverage, weekly feature stories, opponent analysis and observation and other news from around MLS and soccer in general. In addition to this coverage, Serrano will also travel with the club for all road trips throughout the year, reporting on his travels for LAGalaxy.com and the new LA Galaxy Insider blog, which launches today through the site and can be found at www.lagalaxy.com/insider.

“This is an exciting endeavor for the LA Galaxy as we continue to strive to bring our fans quality content and daily up-to-date coverage of our team,” said Chief Operating Officer Chris McGowan. “Adam has a strong journalistic resume and a keen awareness of news value. His efforts will drive engagement with LA Galaxy fans and soccer fans in general.”

In his first duties for the site, Serrano will accompany the team north to Portland and Vancouver for a pair of important Western Conference matches on Saturday and Wednesday respectively. Saturday’s game against the Timbers can be seen live on the NBC Sports Network starting at 8 p.m. while Wednesday’s game against the Whitecaps can be seen locally on KDOC and KWHY with kick off slated for 7 p.m.

Following those two games, the club will return home for a pair of home games, first against Chivas USA in the home leg of the SuperClasico on Saturday, July 21 and then three nights later when they face English Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur. Both games will be played at The Home Depot Center and tickets are on sale now. Please visit the club’s official website at www.lagalaxy.com or call 877-342-5299 for more information about these games or to purchase tickets for all Galaxy home games.
