AT&T GOTW Update: Beckham curler leads Mattocks' leap

It has vintage Beckham written all over it.

The LA superstar's first of two goals against the Portland Timbers last Saturday — which brought flashbacks to his earlier days at Manchester United — holds a commanding advantage in AT&T Goal of the Week voting with 50 percent casting their ballot for the Galaxy midfielder. The Englishman unleashed a 35-yard curler into the far corner that left Troy Perkins helpless as it dipped under the crossbar and equalized the match.

Darren Mattocks' leaping header for the Whitecaps is in a distant second, with Seattle's Alvaro Fernandez's sliding volley holding steady in third. If the results hold, it will be the third Goal of the Week award this season for Beckham, after he took home the honor in Weeks 6 and 10.

There's still time to voice your opinion. Cast your ballot before voting ends on Thursday at 11:59 pm PT. The winner is determined by the total number of votes cast online and via text and is announced on Fridays. Here's how the voting stands as of Thursday morning:

1. David Beckham (LA), 50%
2. Darren Mattocks (VAN), 23%
3. Alvaro Fernandez (SEA), 15%
4. Luis Silva (TOR), 8%
5. Pavel Pardo (CHI) 4%
