LA Galaxy News and Notes (8/19)

Here's a news round up to brighten up your Sunday:

It was a wacky Saturday evening in the Western Conference playoff chase as two of the league's top clubs fell.  The San Jose Earthquakes were defeated 3-1 in their match against the Montreal Impact while David Ferreira scored a late winner to give FC Dallas a 2-1 win over Real Salt Lake at Rio Tinto Stadium. With their victory, FCD is undefeated in four games -- their last loss came to LA on July 28th -- and will arrive at The Home Depot Center next Sunday as one of the league's hottest clubs. Meanwhile, in an earlier match, the Seattle Sounders beat  the Vancouver Whitecaps 2-0 at CenturyLink Field. By beating Vancouver, the Sounders jumped out to a three point lead on the Galaxy for the third slot in the West.
