Zakuani scores a brace as Seattle defeat Galaxy, 3-2 in Reserve League

Seattle Sounders midfielder Steve Zakuani may have signaled his return to full fitness on Sunday as he led the Sounders to a 3-2 victory over the LA Galaxy in Reserve League play at the Starfire Sports Complex.

16 months since suffering a devastating leg injury, Zakuani tallied two goals against the Galaxy -- his first goal since April 9th, 2011 -- before Sammy Ochoa scored the game winner canceling out goals by LA's Jose Villarreal and Michael Stephens. With the result, the Galaxy remain at the top of the Reserve League's West Division with 13 points and a record of 4-2-1. Meanwhile, Seattle remain at the foot of the West division with 7 points and a record of 2-4-1.

The Galaxy reserves return to action on September 4th against the San Jose Earthquakes at the Nutrilite Training Facility. While the Sounders reserves will play their next match on September 9th against Chivas USA at Starfire.
