LA Galaxy midfielder Dan Keat was an unused substitute but New Zealand began their campaign for the 2014 World Cup with a 2-0 victory over New Caledonia.
Shane Smeltz and Chris Wood scored as New Zealand picked up the first victory. Keat and New Zealand continue their campaign on Tuesday, September 11th against the Solomon Islands.
Keat has one appearance for New Zealand having participated in a friendly against Jamaica on February 29th.
