International Roundup: Seattle's Martinez makes brief appearance, USMNT draw

Seattle Sounders FC midfielder Mario Martinez went 18 minutes during Honduras' scoreless draw with Peru at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston.

The Sounders FC midfielder was not the only MLS player still involved in the postseason to play as D.C. United's suspended midfielder Andy Najar started and went 73 minutes before being replace Houston Dynamo midfielder Oscar Boniek Garcia who played the remaining 17 minutes. Martinez is expected to return to Seattle for training on Thursday.

Meanwhile in Krasnodar, Russia, the United States drew Russia 2-2 on goals from Michael Bradley and Mix Diskerud. With the result, the U.S. finishes 2012 with a 9-2-3 record and a .750 winning percentage, tying the modern era record set in 2005 by then-head coach Bruce Arena's team that went 13-3-4.

While not Galaxy related, I'd be remiss if I didn't share a video of Zlatan Ibrahimović's fantastic overhead goal that the Swede scored during his nation's 4-2 win over England.
