The LA Galaxy season may be over, but LA Galaxy Insider Adam Serrano will spend the next few weeks offering an evaluation of each member of the squad. VIEW CALENDAR
The LA Galaxy Player Ratings will begin with players who appeared in the least number of games this season starting with goalkeeper Brian Rowe and concluding with Sean Franklin who played in all 34 of the club’s regular season games. There will also be an evaluation of head coach and general manager Bruce Arena and his moves at the conclusion of the list.
We will have two to three evaluations per day and focus on what each player did well, what they need to improve on ahead of next season as well as a select thought from the player on their performance and a rating from myself.

ADAM CRISTMAN

AGE: 27

POSITION:  Forward

APPEARANCES IN ALL OFFICIAL COMPETITIONS:  GP: 2 (MLS Regular Season), G: 0, A: 1

RESERVE LEAGUE APPEARANCES: GP: 2, MIN: 31, G: 0, A: 2

HIGHLIGHTS:Concussions ultimately led to the early retirement of Adam Cristman, but the veteran forward was able to get on the scoreboard during LA’s 1-1 draw against FC Dallas on April 28. Cristman set up forward Chad Barrett, who found Pat Noonan for a late goal that gave the Galaxy a draw against Dallas. Cristman also tallied a pair of assists in two Reserve League matches.

LOWLIGHTS: Known for his physical style of play and ability to hold up the ball, concussions ultimately put an end to Cristman’s career in 2012. The 27-year-old forward missed the first two months of the season after suffering a concussion during a preseason game against the New York Red Bulls. After returning to action for the months of April and May, Cristman suffered a concussion in training that placed him on the disabled list eventually leading to his retirement.

HIS THOUGHTS: “The concussions I have suffered this year have forced me to retire. While this is not the way I wanted to leave the game, I am excited for what the future holds as I transition into the next phase of my life. I know the career and wonderful experiences I had would not have been possible without the influence of my family, friends, teammates, coaches, trainers, doctors, staff and fans, so thank you and God bless.” – Cristman upon announcing his retirement on July 3.

RATING: INCOMPLETE.
A year after starting in MLS Cup 2011, Cristman’s career was cut short due to his concussion symptoms, which led him to retire in July. Cristman ended his tenure in MLS with 13 goals and eight assists in 81 games while playing for the Galaxy, D.C. United, the Kansas City Wizards and the New England Revolution. Now retired, Cristman is currently preparing to return to school to pursue a career in the medical field.
