The LA Galaxy season may be over, but LA Galaxy Insider Adam Serrano will spend the next few weeks offering an evaluation of each member of the squad. VIEW CALENDAR
The LA Galaxy Player Ratings will begin with players who appeared in the least number of games this season starting with goalkeeper Brian Rowe and concluding with Sean Franklin who played in all 34 of the club’s regular season games. There will also be an evaluation of head coach and general manager Bruce Arena and his moves at the conclusion of the list.
We will have two to three evaluations per day and focus on what each player did well, what they need to improve on ahead of next season as well as a select thought from the player on their performance and a rating from myself out of four stars.
BRYAN JORDAN
AGE: 27
POSITION: Defender/Midfielder
APPEARANCES IN ALL OFFICIAL COMPETITIONS: GP: 10 [1 in U.S. Open Cup, 1 in CONCACAF Champions League], MIN: 511, G: 0, A: 0
RESERVE LEAGUE APPEARANCES: GP: 7, MIN: 554, G: 0, A: 0
HIGHLIGHTS: Jordan started half of the games he played in this season in all competitions, spending time on the right side of midfield and at right back. During the club’s congested schedule in late-May and early-June, Jordan made four consecutive starts in MLS and U.S. Open Cup play.
LOWLIGHTS: Jordan missed much of the preseason after suffering a left hamstring strain in a preseason match against the L.A. Blues and then re-injured his hamstring during the Desert Diamond Cup. Although Jordan made several forays into the starting lineup, he was unable to lock down a spot consistently and was frequently resigned to the substitutes’ bench.
HIS THOUGHTS: “I’ve been [with the Galaxy] a number of years and I’ve been a Galaxy fan since day one, but what is important now is that I definitely want to be playing. [Bruce Arena has] always known that and he knows that every time that I get in there, I give my all. I am very confident that if I get an opportunity then I will be able to deliver.”
RATING: ONE STAR.
It was a difficult season for the veteran from Temple City High as he made just 10 appearances for the club. Jordan saw his option declined by his club of five seasons and was placed into the MLS Re-Entry Draft. The 27-year-old was selected in round three of Stage Two by the San Jose Earthquakes. In 2013, Jordan is expected to challenge Dan Gargan for the spot behind 2012 MLS All-Star Steve Beitashour.
