The Galaxy travel to Costa Rica this week for their first leg of the CONCACAF Championship League quarterfinal series against Costa Rican power CS Herediano.

To get to the quarterfinals, the Galaxy first needed to get past Salvadoran champions Isidro Metapan and Caribbean representatives, the Puerto Rico Islanders in the four-game group stage. They did so with relative ease, defeating Metapan and Puerto Rico at home before taking a point from the Islanders in Puerto Rico. With the group already decided, the Galaxy went down to El Salvador and closed out group play with a win over Metapan to secure the No. 4 seed in the quarterfinals.

Look back at the group stage in a three-part documentary series that includes never before seen footage from the team's CCL experience and narrated by the Voice of the Galaxy, Joe Tutino.

In Part 1, the video below, looks back at the Galaxy's first two matches of the 2012-13 Champions League at The Home Depot Center. From a wild 5-2 win over Metapan that saw David Beckham score directly from a corner, Robbie Keane sent off with a mysterious red card and a brace from Juninho, to LA's impressive 4-0 win over the Puerto Rico Islanders with a roster of young players, the early stages of the tournament did not disappoint.

Check back tomorrow for the debut of Part 2, which goes behind the scenes on the team's trip to Puerto Rico. Part 3, highlighting the final match of the group stage vs Isidro Metapan in El Salvador, will premier on Thursday morning before the Galaxy face CS Herediano at 5 p.m. PT in Costa Rica.
