CARSON, Calif. (Wednesday, March 6, 2013) – The LA Galaxy will open their 2013 MLS Reserve League schedule on Sunday, April 7 when they take on the L.A. Blues of the USL Pro league. The Galaxy will once again play 10 games in the Reserve League, with two of those coming against the Blues while the other eight games will be played against MLS opposition. The games against the Blues are two of the 26 scheduled games between MLS Reserve League teams and USL Pro clubs.

In January, Major League Soccer announced a multi-year, groundbreaking partnership with USL Pro, which enhances the development of professional soccer players in North America, strengthens the competition in both leagues, and establishes a solid foundation for future collaboration.
Five of the Galaxy’s 10 Reserve League games will be played at home with the club set to face Western Conference rivals Chivas USA, Colorado, San Jose and Seattle in addition to a home game against the L.A. Blues at The Home Depot Center on Tuesday, April 7. The Galaxy will open their Reserve League schedule against the Blues on April 7 before later facing Real Salt Lake, Portland, Chivas USA and Colorado.
In 2012, the Galaxy won the Reserve League’s West Division for the first time in club history, compiling a 6-3-1 record for 19 points. Jack McBean scored a team-best five goals in the Reserve League last season, while fellow Homegrown Player, Jose Villarreal, was second with three goals.
