CARSON, Calif. – It looks like the LA Galaxy will be without the services of Robbie Rogers for another week.
In an interview with Time Warner Cable SportsNet’s Andy Adler on "Access SportsNet: Galaxy" on Wednesday, the 26-year-old midfielder admitted that he hopes to return to full training next week as he looks to recover from a right hamstring injury.
Rogers was ruled out of last weekend’s match against Vancouver Whitecaps FC and will likely be unavailable for Saturday’s clash with the Colorado Rapids.
“[On Thursday], I got to run again, I’m doing a lot of weights and treatment every day. [Thursday] will be my first day back at yoga,” said Rogers. “I should be ready to start training full on next week and hopefully play in the games next week. I’m excited. It sucks just to watch [games], when you’re an athlete and you’re injured, you just feel a bit worthless and you want to help your team or just train. I’m just happy to soon be back training.”
When asked about the status of Rogers and Robbie Keane following Thursday’s training session, Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena stated that “we’ll know more tomorrow.”
