Robbie Keane returns to full training with Ireland ahead of World Cup qualifier against Kazakhstan

Robbie Keane has returned to full training ahead of Ireland’s World Cup qualifying match against Kazakhstan and Ireland manager Noel King is hopeful that he’ll be back in the starting lineup on Tuesday.

Keane was unable to make the squad for Ireland’s 2-0 defeat to Germany last Friday after suffering an ankle injury in training during the buildup to the match. However, the LA Galaxy captain and Ireland’s all-time leading goal scorer returned to full training on Sunday and King believes that he’ll be ready for Tuesday’s World Cup qualifying finale in Dublin.

"I am hoping he is fit for selection. Robbie is still recovering," King told reporters.

If Keane does play, it’ll be a good sign for the Galaxy as they’ll need their captain back and ready for selection by Sunday’s vital match against the San Jose Earthquakes.
