LA Galaxy travel to Portland to take on the Timbers | Weekly Schedule

Landon Donovan

CARSON, Calif. (Monday, May 5, 2014) – The LA Galaxy (2-2-2, 8 points) will remain on the road for a third consecutive week as the Galaxy travel to take on the Portland Timbers (1-3-5, 8 points) at Providence Park on Sunday, May 11 at 11:30 a.m. PT live nationally on NBC Sports Network.

Following a disappointing 1-0 defeat to the Colorado Rapids on the weekend, the Galaxy will look to bounce back against another Western Conference opponent. The Galaxy has only won once against the Timbers, a 5-3 victory July 14, 2012, while playing in the Beaver State. All-time, the Galaxy are 4-3-1 against the Timbers, but Bruce Arena’s side has lost the two meetings in the Pacific Northwest.

With the all-time MLS goals mark a single goal away, Galaxy forward Landon Donovan will continue his pursuit of goal 135. Donovan has four goals and three assists against the Timbers in seven appearances dating back to 2011.

Sunday’s fixture marks the last Galaxy match before the United States Men’s National Team will convene in Stanford, Calif. for its World Cup camp on Wednesday, May 14.
