Bruce Arena does not shy away from Jacob Trainor's emotional role in LA Galaxy victory -

CARSON, Calif. – Call it the power of Trainor.

The LA Galaxy returned to winning ways on Wednesday with a 2-1 victory over FC Dallas on the same day that the team welcomed 15-year-old forward Jacob Trainor to the squad after signing him in conjunction with the Make-A-Wish foundation.

Trainor walked out with the club during warm-ups, took part in the team photo and even spoke to TWC SportsNet sideline reporter Kelli Tennant at halftime.

Following the victory, Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena who lauded the 15-year-old who is still recovering from T-Cell Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia for providing his team with a healthy dose of perspective on Tuesday, did not shy away from Trainor’s role in the win.

“It certainly helped,” said Arena. “It was nice meeting Jacob yesterday. He’s a fine young man. Having him around before the game, gave us some good concentration and a desire to win.”
