LA Galaxy center back Tommy Meyer was named to MLSsoccer.com's Team of the Week for Week 16 of the MLS season.
Meyer was steady in central defense as the LA Galaxy defeated the San Jose Earthquakes 1-0. Following the match, Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena stated that Meyer enjoyed the strongest game of his career as he helped silence the San Jose attack led by cagey striker Steven Lenhart.
