LA Galaxy kick off a three-game home stand against the Portland Timbers | Weekly Schedule

CARSON, Calif. (Monday, June 30, 2014) – The LA Galaxy (5-3-5, 20 points) kick off a three-game home stand when they host the Portland Timbers in a 4th of July match at StubHub Center on Friday at 8:00 p.m. PT live on NBC Sports Network. Following the match the Galaxy will host a fireworks show at StubHub Center for all in attendance.



Friday’s match is the second meeting of the season between the two Western Conference foes. The Galaxy and Timbers played to a 1-1 draw in the first meeting of the season at Providence Park May 11. All-time, the Galaxy are 4-3-2 against the Pacific Northwest side. The Galaxy have dominated the Timbers at home, going 3-0-1 in matches played at StubHub Center outscoring the Timbers seven goals to one in four meetings.


On Tuesday, July 1 the Galaxy will support defender Omar Gonzalez and the U.S. National Team as they take on Belgium in the knockout round of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. The Galaxy will host a viewing party at Veteran’s Park in Redondo Beach as the U.S. looks to advance into the quarterfinals of the World Cup for the first time since 2002.
