Irvine, Calif. (Saturday, July 26, 2014) – LA Galaxy II (11-5-4, 37 points) earned a 4-0 victory on the road against Orange County Blues FC Saturday evening at Anteater Stadium. Behind a shutout performance from goalkeeper Brian Rowe, a first-half brace from Chandler Hoffman and goals from Andre Auras and Dragan Stojkov boosted Los Dos in the dominating performance. The victory marks LA Galaxy II’s third straight win.
Head Coach Curt Onalfo’s side got on the board early, as midfielder Andre Auras put the Galaxy up in the fourth minute of play. Auras collected the ball in the OC Blue’s attacking third before firing a long-distance shot from 30 yards out that flew past opposing goalkeeper Aaron Perez.
In the 40th minute, Chandler Hoffman made the score 2-0 courtesy of a ball from Galaxy Homegrown player Raul Mendiola. Mendiola intercepted a pass near midfield before racing past the Orange County defense and passing to a wide open Hoffman at the back post, who smashed it in to the top of the net to double the score.
Hoffman scored again just a minute later to make it 3-0 to Los Dos, intercepting a back pass before rounding the goalkeeper and slotting home as Galaxy II put the game away before halftime.
The second-half saw more of the same from Galaxy II, with the visitors adding a fourth goal in the 63rd minute. A week after recording his first assist in MLS play, Galaxy Homegrown Player Bradford Jamieson IV added his first in USL PRO play by putting a ball across the box to Dragan Stojkov, who placed it into the bottom right corner of the net for his first goal of the year.
Los Dos will now travel to Pennsylvania to take on the Harrisburg City Islanders Wednesday, August 30 at 4 p.m. PT in the third of the current four-game road swing.
